The Mature Methodists Ministry of WUMC is a vital part of the total life and ministry of the congregation. It is made up of adults whose talents are many and whose energy and creativity is abundant.
You don’t have to be Mature to join M&Ms and secondly, you don’t even have to be a Methodist.
Typically, the third Thursday of every month, a group of men and women get together for lunch and fellowship at the Weaverville United Methodist Fellowship Center. Lunch is followed by a short program from a wide variety of enjoyable topics:
- The North Buncombe Brass Band
- Informative presentations on health-related subjects
- Fun time entertainment and sing-alongs by our own membership
Lunch could be a gourmet meal prepared by some of our members, a potluck or a catered feast. In the past, the M&Ms have taken excursions to places like Flat Rock Playhouse, Craggy Gardens and the Carl Sandburg Home, to mention a few. We are always open to suggestions for lunch, programs or excursions.
New members are welcome to come and enjoy the monthly gatherings in Christian love and fellowship.
